Live Briefs!

For the final lecture of the day we were given live brief from real life clients, who came in and pitched their brief to us.

- Beacons (Love Leicester)
- The Real Junk Food Project (Exposure needed)
- The House Of Wabi Sabi (Exposure of origin and meaning needed)

All of the briefs have their benefits, however I think that with my own beliefs and inspiration I am going to go for the Wabi Sabi brief in the hopes of getting the job after my pitch. The founder created the business because she had a love for individual, tactile and sustainable materials, and found that her self taught fashion making skills would further propel the idea.
The idea behind the project is creating sustainable clothing that will last forever, investing in something that will be with you for many years to come, rather than investing in something for the season or current fashion.
Sent with all of the clothing items is a stick of palo santo to be burnt for the customer, to give it the grounded and personal feel that she wishes to send. This is also something that I love because she burns this in the place where she makes the clothing too, so not only is it a personal touch but it is a piece of the origin of the clothing and the person making it.
With this clothing she is selling a lifestyle, not the fashion industry; which she made sure we knew she hates!
