For the final lecture of the day we were given live brief from real life clients, who came in and pitched their brief to us. - Beacons (Love Leicester) - The Real Junk Food Project (Exposure needed) - The House Of Wabi Sabi (Exposure of origin and meaning needed) All of the briefs have their benefits, however I think that with my own beliefs and inspiration I am going to go for the Wabi Sabi brief in the hopes of getting the job after my pitch. The founder created the business because she had a love for individual, tactile and sustainable materials, and found that her self taught fashion making skills would further propel the idea. The idea behind the project is creating sustainable clothing that will last forever, investing in something that will be with you for many years to come, rather than investing in something for the season or current fashion. For the second half of the day we spent our time at Seed Creative Academy discussing the importance of our USP and competition. This section of the course will be business and research orientated, forcing us to focus on how we can improve not only our business but also the way that he handle clients and our work. - Short Term Goal (Develop portfolio/client base) - 3 Year Goal (Where we want to be ideally) Ensuring that our research will be thorough is something that will only help propel us into success, assessing the competition, discussion, market and once again our USP. The importance of using surveys and discussion within our industry was also highlighted.
